Privacy & your data
Summary for people booking and inviting guests through SEVA. Your Gurdwara committee remains responsible for how they use information locally.
Who holds your information
When you book a Path, the host Gurdwara you chose and the SEVA platform each process the information needed to run the booking, reminders, payments, and optional digital invitations.
What we use your contact details for
If you agree on the invitation step, we may use the email and phone number you provided to send booking updates, payment links, reminders, and invitation or RSVP messages (including email, SMS, and where you use them, channels such as WhatsApp). We do not sell your data to third parties for their marketing.
Phone contacts (address book)
We do not read or upload your phone’s contact list to our servers. A future optional feature may use your device’s own contact picker so you can choose people to share your invitation link with; that would still be under your control on your device.
Payments
Card payments are handled by our payment provider (e.g. Stripe). We do not store your full card number on SEVA servers.
How long and your choices
Records are kept as long as needed for bookings, accounts, and legal obligations. You can ask the Gurdwara or your data protection contact (where published) about access, correction, or withdrawal of optional marketing-style contact consent for reminders and invitations.
